I'm hoping my D-III Concordia can pull off an upset of D-I UND in a double header today. We beat NDSU last year so it's possible.

Very similar to yesterdays ending... UGA beats Arkansas. Going into the bottom of the ninth with a 3-3 tie Mike Bolsinger of Arkansas walked the go ahead batter again and then UGAs Matt Ceroni knocked in the go ahead run again. UGA improves to 31-7 overall and 13-4 in the SEC

JMU currently up 7-0 on Delaware in the bottom of the 8th. This game should be over... but like yesterday, UD could put together another 7 run inning

Well UND beat Concordia 21-1 in game 1 of the double header. It's cold as hell here. It says 41 here on my iPod but with the wind it feels a lot colder.

Go Apps!! :D Good to see the team turn things around from the grinder that was the first half of the season.
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Rand Smith’s single with two outs in the top of the seventh inning gave him a school-record 26-game hitting streak and sparked a late rally that gave Appalachian State University baseball a 7-3 win over College of Charleston on Saturday afternoon at Patriots Point Park.

Smith’s line-drive single to left center field came in his fourth at-bat of the day and broke the 21-year-old ASU record of 25-consecutive games with a base hit, set by Tommy Green in 1988. The record-breaking hit, which brought a standing ovation from the Mountaineer faithful in attendance, also began a comeback for Appalachian (20-17, 9-12 SoCon), which trailed 3-2 at the time.

....

The Mountaineers’ 14th win in their last 17 ballgames snapped a string of 16-consecutive regular-season losses to perennial Southern Conference-power College of Charleston. ASU had not defeated the Cougars in the regular season since 2003.

The clubs will play the rubber game of the three-game SoCon series on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Bryant fell 12-10 in game 1 of the doubleheader today. They were down 9-2 in the 5th and made a strong comeback to make it 9-8, but then gave up 3 more to make it 12-8. Scored two more, but not enough. Bryant is now 27-12

CCU 30-8 is impressive. They need to get those 4 games and get on top of those standings.

They do indeed. Coastal is normally a great team and this year we started at 19, now we're #14. We have what it takes but hopefully we don't lose again tonight. We play Clemson on Tuesday and that will definetly be a test of our skill.

I got to see Bryant today. Bryant had 2 hits in the first with 1 run and nothing until the 8th inning. They scored 3 in the 8th to go up 4-1, but gave up 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th and went on to lose 5-4. Decent crowd at the game too.

Bryant is now 27-14

JMU choked it up today in the bottom of the 9th, after being up early 7-2 and then having the 7-4 lead in the bottom of the ninth, UD rallied and pulled out a 4 run 9th to beat the Duke Dogs 8-7. JMU now 23-18 overall and 8-7 in the CAA, tied for 5th overall.

It was a nice pitching battle today, UGA loses to Arkansas 2-0. Arkansas pitcher Brett Eibner through a 1 hit, 12 SO complete game vs UGA. Both teams at one point retired 10+ straight batters. UGA now 31-8 overall and 13-5 in the SEC. UGA pitcher Justin Grimm (mcveyrl over at the other place used to coach him) was throwing 97 MPH fast balls and pitched a career high 7 innings with 6 SO. UT beat LSU again today (LSU should have easily swept UT, but instead lost 2 of 3 this weekend). Florida also lost today. UGA up three games on UF in the SEC east and 1.5 games up on LSU for the overall SEC lead.

Southern beats UAPB 6-3 to climb to 21-12 (14-4 SWAC West). The Golden Lions took 2 of 3 from the Jags, this was the first series the Jags lost this season.

How does GSU keep dropping in the polls even though they keep winning?

Harvard was swept by Brown over the weekend. The Crimson will face Boston College on Wednesday.
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.

Sweet Jebus... Rich Poythress his 3 HRs today with 4 RBIs vs Kennesaw State. He now has 20 HRs and 65 RBIs on the season... these are all time top 5 stats for a single season in UGA history. He's also top 5 in these two stats all time at UGA.... potentially could break all the records the way he's hitting this season. Dawgs win 11-7
