Any "sport" that the contestant isn't the one doing the work I won't compare men to women.
Being a jockey requires skill and planning but if you have a bad horse no amount of jockey skill will win that race. Just like car racing. A great pt crew and a car that is set up well can make up for the lack of skill behind the wheel.
