You should understand my Arab brother that the old people are staunch in their traditions. Trust me, when we get as old as 89Hen sometime in 2234, these types of uniforms will be remembered fondly. Today's new-fangled kids crap becomes tomorrow's tradition.

BTW, those uniforms sucked.
I remember when Oregon first came out with the wings on the shoulder pads and people complained, there was an analyst that said (non-verbatim), "If these had come out in the 1970s, we'd be calling them one of the best uniform traditions today."

Why am I not surprised that you actually liked them?

They are the two crests of the Calvert and Crossland families who were the prominent in Maryland in the 1600's. IMO the Maryland flag is one of the best in the country.

So, technically all of their uniforms are school colors.
The two official colors of the University of Oregon are green (PMS 3425) and yellow (PMS 108)...
Other greens and yellows are acceptable as complementary colors
I thought they were kinda cool, if only because I knew it was really going to chap the britches of some of the elderly folk here I love it when people take this kind of shit so seriously.

Not so fast there bandall. Myself, BillK, Andy... we're all on board. It seems most of the objection is coming from the 30 something crowd.
Was the topic of discussion again this morning on sports talk here. Local HS coach tweeted that all of his players loved the unis. Just talked to a big Terp fan at work (just turned 70 two weeks ago) and he loved them. #1 WR recruit in the nation tweeted that he loved them. I'm with Andy, fuck the rest of you sticks in the mud.

BTW clenz, I should mention that my #1 pet peeve on unis is when schools wear colors that aren't their school colors. FSU and VT wearing black, OkieSt and Boise wearing grey, etc... White is the only exception.

At least you finally realize you're part of the elderly folk on this board

Well, isn't that very "English" of Maryland.
"Ah fuck. You are right." KYJelly, 11/6/12
"The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam." Barack Obama, 9/25/12

Pretty sure the first Calverts were from Ireland.
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."
I don't hate the uni's, but it could have been done better. I think they should have gone with one design on the helmet and the other on the shoulders. Going half and half straight down the middle was a bad move, IMHO.
And 89 and Andy, you guys aren't from Maryland. Why are you referring to it in the possessive?

**** Maryland! I'm only using it for a job!
You could make a t-shirt out of that and sell it to LOTS of federal employees!

While technically, I was born in DC, my parents did live in Silver Spring up until I was 6. And then moved back, to Columbia, when I was 13. I think I qualify to be considered a Maryland native.
