It's already happened, and both cases that I know of involve the Big East. It wasn't exactly immediate, but UCONN and South Florida were FCS teams who ended up in the B(C)$ Big East VERY quickly.
But UConn was already a member in other sports similar to 'Nova. And if I remember correctly USF was in the CUSA before they joined the Big East. They only way I see a FCS school being invited to a BCS conference is if they are already a member in other sports. We'll just wait and see.

Apparently, Nova is considering a move to FBS. It will take them at least 3 years. I expect the ACC will be at 16 teams by then, but if not, Nova may be an option.

I posted the article on AGS on Tuesday - VU has already applied & already been rejected by the ACC.

nova's problem has been and always will be that they don't have a place to play. If they had the Linc, they would've moved up already. They will never have the Linc (again, the Eagles don't even like Temple playing there but with Temple being an actual city school - which nova isn't - they didn't have a choice) and they have nowhere to build a stadium nor the funds to build one.

With that said, I don't think nova basketball will ever be left without a home - but it will be in a lesser Big East or a basketball-only conference of the other leftovers from the BCS shuffling. Heck, Kansas is probably in the same boat so they'll have decent company.

Villanova will be fine in basketball. They will always have St John's, Georgetown, Providence and Seton Hall - 4 of the original 7 Big East members.

except all those schools are A) mediocre or B) not schools they once were. :ohno: I'm concerned with UConn deciding to stay in the Big East. If any school needs to move the most in the BE its the Huskies.

UConn won't decide to stay in the Big East, they will stay because they don't have a choice. I think they will eventually land in the ACC, but it may take a while.

I'm not worried about UConn, the way I see it one of two things will likely happen:

1. The conference expansion stops, at least for a while, and the Big East will survive as a football conference.

2. The expansion continues and UConn ends up in a 16 team ACC.

There are lots of other possibilities, but I think these are the most likely.

I hope you're right. With Pitt and Syracuse moving to the ACC the Big East lost a couple of really good rivalries...UConn/Pitt, UConn/Syracuse, Pitt/West Virginia. Plus I would love to see UConn in the same conference as Duke and North Carolina and of course Boston College just to piss them off.
