Which is basically what all of this is about. "Suing to settle" I guess. I wonder how Pitt and Syracuse feel about all of this, and whether they would want to pursue this option as well. Then again, I doubt the ACC is as desperate as the Big 12 with shoring up its membership.

I don't think this is a good move by WVU.

1) I don't think they have a leg to stand on. We'll see how it plays out in court.

2) They are burning bridges and it might come back to bite them. The Big 12 might have a longer half-life than the Big East, but it is also unstable. If Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State all bolt for the Pac-12 the Big 12 will be dead and WVU will be without a conference. If that happens WVU will be lucky to land in a BCS conference.

I understand their desire to leave the Big East, but they need to do it in a way that doesn't piss everybody off. Pitt and Syracuse haven't tried to break the 27 month rule, at least not yet.
