Fullerton lost both games thus far in the LSU series, 7-6 each.
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.

Texas State 11 - Houston 10
TXST completes the sweep of Houston with another walk-off 3R HR with 2 out in the B9.
Pitching was not the position du jour. TXST relievers had a lot of issues but so did the 2nd/3rd base Ump.
He was a real douche and cost the Cats a run or 2 while giving the same to UH. It all came out in the wash though.

Meanwhile, Harvard was also swept by Wofford, aggregate score was 25-6. :ohno:

Next games: Fullerton at Texas A&M on Tuesday, Harvard at Mercer Monday and Tuesday.
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.

StonyBrook extended its winning steak to six games today defeating Iona 5-2. In the last week SBU has beaten Fairleigh Dickinson, Univ. of Michigan twice, Wintrop Univ. twice and Iona. SBU plays tomorrow night in the Coaches to Strike Out Cancer Tournament hosted by Seton Hall Univ. We play NJIT and then will face Seton Hall and Fordham Univ. on Saturday. The Seawolves are 8-4 on the season.

Cats lost a sloppy snoozer @ UT on Tuesday 3-1. They left 13, we left 7 (including bases loaded and our clean-up up to bat) We had 2 errors and a WP that led to all their runs. They had 1.
7007 in attendance and you could almost hear a pin drop. I'd rather be at a Cats game in SM with 1000 rowdy folks than in the tomb-like atmosphere that is Disch-Falk Field.
No way we lose this if the fielding was clean - alas, was not to be.
As for the hitting, I think they got their fill against UH and forgot to do something Tues night.

Ironically, losing to UT our RPI dropped 14>22 while UTs went from 90>54.

We get another shot at them April 26.

SAM this weekend. Can't really tell how good they are.
Common Opponents
They lost to UH (single game). We swept UH.
Both beat Nebraska
They beat Rice, we lost 11-10

TXST takes SAM in game 1 of 3....6-3
They're starter had 10Ks, ours had 6
Neither starter figured in the decision. Middle relief pitcher, Pittman (2/3 inning) gets the win. Dvorsky gets the save (4)

TXST 13-4
SAM 12-6

Game 2 tomorrow @ 2PM. They're Ace will be on the mound. Not sure who we will start, likely Mitchell Pitts (2-0, 5.56 ERA)

TXST 5 - SAM 3
Texas State now stands @ 14-4. Mitchell Pitts goes 7, giving up 3 ER, and goes to 3-0. Dvorksy comes in to shut the door again and gets save #5. Not a ton of hitting but highlights include 1B Kalenkosky getting another HR (6) and LF/DH/LHP McVaney walks then steals 2nd, 3rd and home.
Tyler Sibley (2B) extends hitting streak to 16 games, (21 if you include the last 5 games of 2010), and leads the 'cats in hitting (.429)

Fullerton has finally beat Arizona State. Score was 7-3. Next game (today)'s time was bumped off to 2 pm due to impending inclement weather.

I won't post about Harvard baseball anymore until Ivy play starts.

Like the UT game, fielding killed us against TCU. All 3 Frog runs were the result of errors. :ohno:
Seems our guys also can't hit during the week, either.
Our starter went 5.1 innings of shut-out ball then was pulled with a 1-2 count on a batter  ...that's when the sky fell in

TCU 3
TXST 1

This weekend we are @ Lamar 16-8 (5-1)

Not sure what to make of Lamar. They are 16-8 but they haven't really played a tough schedule. The feather in their cap is they split with Rice. Other than that their best win(s) have been over UT-Pan Am
