Yup - six teams still with a chance, none from the ACC or SEC.

The ACC and SEC had 17 of the field of 64 - with 13 of the 16 Regional Host sites being either ACC/SEC

7 of the 8 Super Regionals were at SEC/ACC sites, and they only managed to win two of them - one an ACC/SEC match, the other an all ACC match.

In fact, after the regionals, the ACC/SEC won only ONE game against a non ACC/SEC team - TAMU's single win against TCU in the Supers.

Oklahoma State and TCU open CWS play with 2-0 records, marking just the third time in CWS history where both teams to start 2-0 were from the same conference (Arkansas and Texas/1979, Southwest Conference; Florida and South Carolina/2011, Southeastern Conference).

Of the last 10 teams to start 2-0 at the CWS, nine have advanced to the championship series.

The last time a conference had two teams in the CWS finals was in 2011, when Florida and South Carolina faced off.

The Big 12 is 20-4 this postseason with wins against teams from 12 different leagues.

The Conference is 5-1 in the CWS, with the one loss coming in the contest where two league teams faced off (TCU defeating Texas Tech in both teams' Omaha openers).

The league currently owns a .833 win percentage. No conference to earn at least three bids has ever posted a winning percentage better than .760.

Each of the league's three postseason teams has eliminated a national seed - Oklahoma State eliminated No. 7 Clemson in road regional play, TCU eliminated No. 4 Texas A&M in a road Super Regional and Texas Tech knocked off No. 1 Florida in a CWS elimination game. With those wins, the league also eliminated the ACC and SEC postseason Tournament champions/conference automatic qualifiers.

Of the five SEC teams to advance beyond regional play, the Big 12 eliminated three of them - Oklahoma State def. South Carolina, TCU def. Texas A&M and Texas Tech def. Florida.

Oklahoma State became the first team in CWS history to throw back-to-back 1-0 shutouts. The Cowboys are 7-0 this postseason with a 0.71 ERA and have not trailed in a game yet.

The Big 12 entered the CWS as the only league to send three or more teams to Omaha twice in the past four seasons (2014).

How long would you like me to wait? One of the schools is the one my daughter attends?

Please let me know the appropriate timing...I await your decision.

kalm, admit defeat on this one.

If TTU wasn't in the CWS, I could see your point, but the Z clan has been making the scenic drive from SA to Lubbock all year

You must wait for at least 3 major scandals involving conference schools.
Heh, you had that completed in about 3 months.
