If that were truly the case, then Alabama lost, they should fall behind all the remaining undefeated teams until they lose a game as well.
I do think Alabama is a better team than Boise State, and I don't think there are 7 teams in the nation that could beat 'Bama on a neutral field but for supporters of the BCS to rank the Tide in front of BSU (or whatever other random other undefeated team there is) would be hypocrisy at it's finest.
Hypocrisy is the MO of the BCS, and their minions.
The position that Mark May and Herbstreit are paid to take on the ESPN pregame and postgame shows is so lame, I don't really think they believe it. At one time the only criteria that was set in stone was that an unbeaten team should and would play in a "National Championship Bowl Game" unless there were more than two, which rarely happened. Breed'em Young went to the Holliday bowl undefeated back in 1984 because that was the bowl that the then WAC was contractually committed to. They barely beat a five loss Michigan team in that game, and was awarded "The National Championship." In reality, they might have been a top ten team, and maybe not.
Todays clusterfuck is directly a result of that travesty of justice, but sadly, the injustice has been worsened by fixing the BCS games to best protect the BCS system. ie, matching Boise with TCU last year to eliminate any possibility of having two non-BCS teams win BCS bowl games in the same year.
There will have to be a meaningful effort on either the fans in the way of a viewer boycott, or there will have to be legal action to put a stop to this disgusting system of power and money mongering by the BCS conferences.
Sad, but true.
