When did ECU hire Skip Holtz?

Nevermind, I'm thinking of Lou Holtz

Either way, who cares?

glad to see Skip Holtz get a bigger job. He has done a really good job at ECU and he seemed to continually be looked over by ADs.

Hopefully he can get the city to support the program consistently. Looks like a good hire for the Bulls. It's time for them to take that next step and become true conference title contenders.

Yep. I now expect USF to yank even more quality recruits away from FSU. ;)

Low blow  there's a couple Tampa kids that FSU has a good chance on.

I think the possibilities are there for Ruffin McNeill. He was fired by Tuberville, and he's an ECU grad. His daughter goes to ASU (he used to coach at ASU). They'll probably aim for a bigger name though. Should be interesting, some down here are suggesting Tommy Bowden.

USF just made a HUGE mistake. The best guy available was already on staff, just waiting for a promotion. They better hope they don't lose Mike Canales within the Big East. They'll pay big time if that happens.

How many of their games have you seen? How is that a huge mistake? What are they gonna do win 2 Big East games instead of 3? It's not like they were winning titles, and it's not like Holtz can't keep the status quo as Leavitt did. It was time for changes to be made on both sides of the ball.

I didn't realize USF was a "bigger" job than ECU. :coffee:

If the paycheck is bigger, which I suspect that it is, then yes, USF is a bigger job than ECU.

why choose the cellar dweller BCS teams? USF is inconsistent as hell but they are on the level of any of those teams you picked from those conferences.

How long have you been a member of these boards Jag??? Don't you know that choosing the extremes is always the way to win an argument when it comes to football conference strength??

No, I haven't seen a USF game in person. Seen a couple on TV, though. My argument is based more on knowing Canales personally. As in he was my position coach, so I know how good the guy is having seen him in action every day over an entire season.
