Just more fallout from this poorly ill-concieved move to cut our budget by arbitrarily cutting programs without the proper vetting and discussions. With the legal fees, settlements, and funding the program for next year anyway...the cost of this will now be substantially higher than if we just waited until the season started to announce that we would be eliminating the equestrian team in a year or two.

Wow, looks like DSU has some serious Title IX issues.
This is interesting because it will be the first case in a while where there are just blanket Title IX allegations made.

Which I find to be insane because how difficult could it be to fund women's programs? For the annual cost of the equestrian team itself ($700K) you could probably fund three or four different programs. Lacrosse/Field Hockey (using Alumni Stadium), Volleyball (Memorial Hall), Rowing (using Silver Lake), Swimming/Water Polo (Building a Pool on-campus), Golf (at Mapledale Country Club). This is just laziness on the part of the athletic department.danefan wrote:Wow, looks like DSU has some serious Title IX issues.

We've been in a continuous state of transition since Sessoms and our AD left for "greener pastures". But this is common sense stuff that the administration and powers that be are screwing up on.dbackjon wrote:they really screwed the pooch on this one - poor judgement and leadership

Well, it looks like the white chicks can get back to riding their big, black steeds in Dover!
