Interesting FBS Shuffling Article

2nd article I've seen now that talks about the Big Ten firing the first shot across the bow by expanding to 14 or 16 teams. This would kill the Big East.

That's news to me, I didn't know Villanova and Georgetown don't play football.
The remaining schools in the Big East do not play football: Villanova, Marquette, Georgetown, Seton Hall, St. John's, Providence and DePaul. All of Notre Dame's sports would move to the Big 16.

The team that Nova supposedly doesn't have would have been at least in the middle of the Big Ten standings last season.ASUMountaineer wrote:That's news to me, I didn't know Villanova and Georgetown don't play football.

Re: Interesting FBS Shuffling Article
Ehh, if you read the comments on the article, you'll see that SEC fans consider every other conference inferior. One said that Miami needs to step up and "play with the big boys." Not surprising, most of those people have probably never set foot in a college classroom.ASUG8 wrote:The team that Nova supposedly doesn't have would have been at least in the middle of the Big Ten standings last season.ASUMountaineer wrote:That's news to me, I didn't know Villanova and Georgetown don't play football.
What does it take to get a little recognition?
It will be interesting to see what happens if some of this comes to pass. Especially, which FCS teams may have the opportunity to move up with openings in FBS conferences.

Re: Interesting FBS Shuffling Article
What does he mean by this? A playoff for FBS or a Big Ten championship game? I thought the Big Ten commissioner was firmly against a playoff system. The Big Ten wants a playoff.
As already pointed out. The writer lost all credibility by saying Villanova and Georgetown don't play football.

Perhaps I should rephrase that to help with the point. As I said, in the post, the SEC fans' comments on the site, said that the Big East and ACC need to play with "the big boys." So, when this thought process makes up the majority of college football fans', FCS teams certainly aren't going to get "respect" if Big East and ACC teams don't.Skjellyfetti wrote:Every other conference IS inferior.ASUMountaineer wrote:SEC fans consider every other conference inferior.
See what happens when a post is taken out of context.

Once the first shot is fired, it'll be a scramble to see who gets the spots.
It is looking very possible for a school with an FCS program to move up to the big time and not be lost in the shuffle since the power conferences will try to have the largest dick by adding more and more members.
