And both the university president and football coach have questioned if the intra-state rivalry will continue...

Boise State University President Bob Kustra says he sees no reason to continue a longtime football rivalry with the University of Idaho, calling Vandal culture "nasty" and "inebriated."

Kustra's criticisms came during an interview with the Idaho Statesman editorial board Tuesday. Kustra later said in a prepared statement that questions about the rivalry "hit a sore spot" and his comments were harsher than he intended.

Interesting that BSU's dismissal of Idaho is not unlike the treatment they've received (and would like to escape) from BCS teams for the past several years.
