Lots of great games this week. What is the I-A game of the week?

As far as I'm concerned, these are all in the "Who Cares?" category. I'd rather watch Montana vs Mount Union. (OK, I know that's not on the schedule. But that's how I feel about FBS.)

FBS only has paper champions. FCS actually decides it on the field. Just look at the lengths they go to screw the Boises and the Utahs of the world. It's disgusting.

The thing is, it doesn't make the games that lead up to that paper championship any less interesting. I hate the non-championship nature of the FBS, but I love watching football and hence, love watching games like this weekend's slate.

Yeah, that was a great game - felt like a late November game. Both teams really went back and forth. Quality football.

Michigan @ Notre Dame

The story lines attatched to this game are too numerous to count and fully grasp at this point.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fucking Communist and hates America.

Boise has given us two of the most entertaining games of the last three years.

Oh BTW, SuperHornet, I'm going to be doing this every week, so I'd appreciate it if you got this out of your system now. Many of us here love all college football, not just I-AA. 8-)

Let's see:

West Virginia at Marshall - nope

Georgia at South Carolina - decent SEC matchup between two bottom-of-the-Top 25 teams; winner will come out as around 5th in the SEC pecking order; meh, can't pick this one

Florida State at Oklahoma - #10 hosts #17, should be a good one, but I bet FSU is overranked early, as usual

Michigan at Notre Dame - two unranked squads; lots of history; that's about it

Colorado at California - next

Miami (FL) at Ohio State - #12 @ #2; rematch of the '02 title game; I think we have a winner

Penn State at Alabama - another classic matchup, Penn State stands to get blown off the field, IMHO, even without Ingram starting for 'Bama

Oregon at Tennessee - Oregon should just destroy the Volunteers here; does Tennessee even have enough players to field a team this year?

Stanford at UCLA - uh, no

You almost got it right. The correct answer is PSU at Bama. The amazing thing is that in this classic matchup, JoPa is still coaching and Bear Bryant has been dead for 27 years.

My first recollection of big time college football was the Penn State/Bama Sugar Bowl in '75.

JoePa may as well be dead. Penn State hasn't been really good since about 1994. Sure they've been undefeated late in the season a few times since, but when it comes down to brass tacks, they're just never quite good enough anymore to get to the big game. At least Joe is still coherent enough to have handed the reins over to his assistants.

I just don't like PSU in this game. They're headed to play in a hostile environment against a team that is much faster and more skilled. They didn't even know who their QB was going to be a week ago and they settled on a frosh. The Lions are getting a dozen from Vegas.

The OSU-Miami game looks to be a better matchup. If the game were in November, I'd like OSU a whole lot better, but Miami will be fine playing in 70-degree weather. The Canes are getting 8.5. I think they can surprise.

Of course, none of us will look like a genius until we see the final scores. :thumb:

I'm exaggerating to a degree. I do believe that the FCS brand of football is better, but I do like watching Boise kick the "big timers'" shells. This year, I also extend that nod to North Texas because my position coach at UOP is their offensive coordinator.

Not so fast, my friend. Closer than the experts think.

Well we know you like girls football too. Doesn't say much for FCS though.

Alabama-Penn St. is a good game but Miami-Ohio St. is an easy pick for me. Love to see Miami play OSU as much as possible to help me forget the '02 championship game match-up.

I took the homer route, FSU/Oklahoma is a Huge game, a win (and snapping a 31 game OU home win streak) shows that FSU is truly on the right path. A loss pretty much means same ole mediocre Noles. Miami/Ohio State is big as well (no way I would vote for the U) Big weekend for the ACC, especially after dropping two close big OOC games last week.

Ohio State vs Miami

OSU will win by 10+...WVU showed us last night that Marshall isn't a walkover, and OSU shellacked them somethin' fierce last week. Miami beat FAMU, whoopy.

Well, the Bama-PSU game sure didn't pan out so much.

Penn State-Temple should be much more competitive.

Two of the games with no votes ended up being two of the best games.

West Virginia at Marshall
Georgia at South Carolina
