Those are two diametrically opposed statements. The answer is somewhere in the middle. There is no proof that Jesus guarantees failure in any area. But He doesn't guarantee success, either. MY point was that McCartney's a good coach AND has good character. While character doesn't guarantee success, one WITHOUT character is soon out of a job.

I think what Wedgie was referring to was the fact that McCartney gave up coaching for the Promise Keepers. Now, 16 years later, and at age 70, doubtful he could get back into coaching effectively

He didn't say anything about the time gap, Jon. That makes a whole lot more sense than what he said.
