The conference is led by FIU at 4-1. FIU's overall record? 4-5

Only FIU, FAU and Troy could finish the season with winning records, and for FAU, that would require beating Texas.

OOC Record? 4-28, with games against Texas, South Carolina, Navy and Kansas State left.

1 point win by FAU over 3-win Alabama-Birmingham

Throw the Big East in this list. The Sun Belt is horrible.. the teams themselves are bad, plus they end up playing a lot of body bag games.. which really kills them.

Not even close. The Big East sucks, but they are no where near the level of futility that the Sun Belt has established. The Big East may be the next to worst FBS conference, but it is a huge drop to the Sun Belt.

If the Sun Belt dropped to FCS, they would not deserve an autobid.

the MAC is pretty bad too. Out of the 5 non AQ conferences I'd rank them:
1) MWC
2) WAC
3) CUSA
4) MAC
5) Sun Belt

personally I think the ACC/Big East is only better than 2 of those 5 conferences for sure

I am a Big East fan. The Sun Belt is the only conference that I'd definitely rank it ahead of. It might be better than the ACC, CUSA and MAC, but maybe not.

I'd put the MWC and WAC ahead of it (and the ACC).

Bottom of the MAC is bad. Top is decent. So far, two 8 wins teams, and a seven win team, plus two 6 win teams.

OOC record of 15-37, FBS OOC of 7-35. Two FCS losses.
Wins over probable bowl teams UConn and Army. Also beat BCS conference teams in Purdue and Minnesota.

In respect, the Big East is more pathetic than the Sun Belt. You see, with the Sun Belt there is no expectation of success, millions of dollars, large budgets etc... just a bunch of crappy football teams. So no one expects them to be good, or even moderately respectable. This is why the Big East is terrible. They get a BCS auto-bid, but will probably end the season with not a single team in the top 25. This will not be the first time it has happened, if I had to guess.

Over the years the Big East has done pretty well in bowl games, even after Miami, BC and Va Tech left. This is probably the worst the conference has been, even so, the Big East is 22-15 OOC, which is a far cry from the Sun Belt.

I agree that the Big East doesn't deserve a BCS autobid (neither does the ACC), but you are getting carried away if you think it is as a bad as the Sun Belt.
