COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Even if TCU and Boise State run the table, they still don't deserve to be in the Bowl Championship Series title game, Ohio State president E. Gordon Gee said Wednesday.

In an interview with The Associated Press, the president at the university with the largest athletic program in the country said that TCU and Boise State do not face a difficult enough schedule to play in the national championship game.

This is weak sauce. Ohio State president definitely deserves a shot in the eye.

yes, I'm an elitist asshole when it comes to college football. I don't care if Boise ever plays for a title (I do respect them and the work they've done). Honestly I don't care about any of them if my team isn't there. And I'm quite sure it may be a while before they get back. I've never been a fan of a playoff, but if it'll kill all the complaining that goes on at this point in the season then I would be all for it.

So, are you going to keep saying Boise doesn't belong in the title game after they WIN it, TJ?

You won't care, I understand that and all but the fact that the players, the school, and the fans are eliminated from the chance to even see if they could have the glory that comes with winning a NC is the problem I have. If you earn something or do everything in your power to earn it and are held by a certain segment of the population then that's just a whole lot of bullshit...isn't it.

I agree the system is bs. the system was much worse a few years ago where a team could find out they were playing for a title a couple of hours before the game. I just don't like all the politicking and conspiracies that get thrown around.

If you are refering to Pioneer League arguments, then no. Most of us would welcome the PFL into the playoffs as an AQ.

But the PFL, as a non-schollie league, is not on the same footing as schollie teams. Boise gives the same # of schollies as Ohio State. Boise attempts to schedule tough teams. Most of the PFL does not.

I am dealing with simple facts though and it still ain't right.

For instance BCS bitches say that it is a fact that Boise wouldn't be as good in a different conference...that ain't fact, it's a fairly educated guess, but not fact.

It is however a fact that Boise has went out of their way to schedule the BCS conference games in OOC but have not had much luck at all.

The difference is simple here though TJ...any of the teams that they need to schedule to gain some respect and get the nod to achieve a playoff bid are available. In this case it is those schools being left out that don't want to schedule and the conferences that are likely to be in the playoffs (the AQ's) can not force the little schools to play them.

Their is no barrier to entry for any of these schools, they can play the good teams, get paid, and prove themselves in the process.

I agree with that, and for the record I think Boise and TCU can compete and win in any league. I think the landscape of BCS football has to change to get Boise the games they want, and I agree that isn't fair. Most of these teams don't want to play each other so they're not gonna give anyone else a chance.

Same sht i said about the playoffs last year & 2 days ago! BTW if BSU & TCU are too weak, if they make it to the NC they'll lose right?
