I was hoping that Boise would get Iowa or Nebraska of Alabama or someone of that ilk. Instead they get Utah which is a no-win game for Boise. That loss to Nevada really killed them.

I hate the BCS system, but I think they got the right two teams in the BCS Championship game.

Agree, should be an entertaining game.

You didn't actually think the BCS folks would run the risk of Boise actually beating one of their own, did you?

Boise/Utah would be an entertaining matchup if Utah's starting QB was healthy, but he's not, he's out for the game, so Boise is probably going to give Utah some strong lovin'..

In other news.. Connecticut is going to make it's first BCS bowl appearance by getting... well, I can't even describe it, but beat very badly by Oklahoma. I'm guessing it's not going to be much of a game.

Auburn/Oregon is the correct BCS Championship match-up, but I still disagree with how they got there. I don't think Oregon would have survived a playoff at this point in the season.

Stanford/VA Tech will be a great game, Stanford is too good though. Too bad their alumni suck and won't travel for the game.

Ohio State/Arkansas is going to be a really entertaining game even though I strongly dislike both teams.

TCU/Wisconsin is either going to be a really good game, or it's going to go very badly for TCU...

I would think that UConn-Va Tech and OK-Stanford would be better match-ups

Uconn getting a BCS bid is a goddamn joke.

The funny thing is they were the best OOC win for any B10 school....and Michigan got that W, but 20 points.

Yep, the B10 number 7 beat the BE champ by 20 points.

#13 VTech gets to go to the Orange Bowl with losses to #11 Boise State and JMU, while #11 Boise State goes to the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas with a loss to #15 Nevada...

BCS!!! BCS!!! BCS!!!

And #25 UConn is in a BCS bowl, with losses to:

Michigan 30-10 - Finished season 7-5
Temple 30-16 - Finished Season 8-4
Rutgers 27-24 - Finished season 4-8
Louisville 26-0 = Finished season 6-6

Nevada finished 12-1, only loss 27-21 to 10-3 Hawai'i

Title game, Rose Bowl, and Sugar Bowl are gonna be good games. The rest, meh, could be worse. And while I really don't like Boise, they got fucked.

Little Sisters of the Poor should have gotten a shot against Gordon Gee's guys!

And what DBack above said.. the regional pairings would have been better. No way the Stanford alums travel to the Orange Bowls, and UConn... yeesh, do they have a traveling fan base? Boise would have put WAY more asses in the seats, their fanbase loves to travel. They'll probably sell out Vegas's 30,000+ seat stadium pretty easily.

I'm a UConn fan - and I agree with you. There should be no autobids with the BCS or at the very minimum some win/loss related requirement. 8-4 is a good season, but not a great season and not worthy of one of the top Bowl games.

Of course, the BCS mostly did what it was supposed to do, protect the conferences that are part of it and shut out the little guy.

Michigan State got hosed too... I wonder if they want a playoff now.

10/30/10 37-6 against Iowa hosed Sparty more than the BCS did.

FSU against the Old Ball Coach should be just like old times.

I'll give Boise this, the Nevada loss was not as a bad loss considering how they've played. But to give them Utah is pathetic.

TCU vs. Wisconsin
Stanford vs. Virginia Tech
Arkansas vs. Ohio State
Oklahoma State vs. Arizona
Miami vs. Notre Dame
Florida State vs. South Carolina
Michigan State vs. Alabama
Texas A&M vs. LSU

Not really. Only two teams per conf can get in. So they weren't going to get in anyway.

you do know if they beat Iowa they would have won the Big 10 outright at 8-0?

I was speaking to the margin of defeat that they suffered. I thought you meant that the fact that they were blown out in that game is what was keeping them out.

that applies as well (that and the fact that Iowa tanked at the end of the season), but I should have been clearer with my point.

GTech vs. Air Force might be the quickest game ever. I bet they'll be a total of 6 passes thrown the whole game.

Boise got hosed.....how is Arkansas more deserving of Boise for a BCS slot over Boise considering Arkansas spent all of one week ranked above Boise, they are both at-large bid &, between the two teams, Boise is the only one to defeat a school currently in the BCS (Va Tech)? BCS is a fokking joke.... :willybs:
