After posting a few times in threads full of folks complaining about bowls and their insignificance usually taking the opposite view. Struggling to make it through the Kraftfighthunger bowl, I realized I'm a changed man. I had an epiphany: I don't really care about these games, I mean I'll watch a couple but I was kinda going thru the motions, similar to jerking off when you have nothing better to do.

So here's a rare occurrence where Tampajag can admit that he's wrong. FBS needs a playoff, not because I care about TCU, Boise, or any other team. It's only because I demand more interesting games.

I watched parts of the Nevada/BC game and actually enjoyed it. I watched because I enjoy watching Nevada's offense and was looking forward to watching them light up the scoreboard. Boy was I surprised, tthe BC defense was stellar in slowing down the pistol. #40 for BC was an absolute beast. Fortunately I also like watching great defenses at work (which is why I love watching TCU). Too bad BC's offense wasn't up to par but that team is going to be pretty good next year.

How would a playoff work at the FBS level? Would fans travel in anywhere near the same numbers that they do now? If Alabama or Ohio State are playing on January 1, their fans have plenty of time to make flight, hotel, etc. arrangements. In a playoff, they don't know if, when and where they're playing until after they've won and they only have a week to make arrangements. How many of them don't make the trip? If Alabama and Ohio State lose some fans from week to week, what about the other schools without as loyal and large of a following?

I love the playoffs at the FCS level but I'm not sure they would work as well at the FBS level. Does a +1 game make more fiscal sense?

I have a great respect for BC and their program, I watch that D hold down FSU almost every year and I love the pistol. I just can't get into watching those games anymore. I barely watched the Cotton Bowl and my hate for LSU usually gets me thru any game they play. **** I barely watched the Chic-Fil-A Bowl

So it isn't the quality of the football, it's the quantity? You've seen enough games in a short period of time and are ready for the next season? That makes sense. I tend to ignore some of the earlier bowls to try and keep from getting burned out. It works some years, others it doesn't. This year it did.
