Towson is having a big announcement this morning at 11am.
Word is they are going to finally unveil the plans for the new basketball arena.

They're officially changing the school name to Toddles College for Special Needs?

Shouldn't they have really gone all the way and done it at 11:11am?

The existing TowsonCenter has the same capacity. It's painfully outdated. Towson is planning on growing to @27K students in the next 3-5 years. The Club and loge seating will be nice and needed addition, especially for luring Baltimore area businesses and donors.

Word is they are going to convert the existing arena to an indoor practice facility for football/lax/soccer after this new arena is complete.

That's a more recent event and a function of the program. When the Bob was built and Brey was the coach they were filling it. Average attendance:

1999 - 4,815
2000 - 4,989
2001 - 4,848
2002 - 4,948
2003 - 4,697

When Brey left, the program went in the dumper, so did attendance.

This is Kennedy's last year. New AD is going to make a splash, or try to with a big hire. New arena being built will help lure.

And maybe the football team will play along and be 0-11.
