Goddess of Gold: Budner on a Title Mission

There must be something in the water in the neighborhood.

Senior Meredith Budner is the Michael Phelps of the Colonial Athletic Association.

At the very least, the Rockville, Md. native is perhaps the most decorated student-athlete in Towson University Athletics history.

Rodger's Forge native Phelps will be remembered for his 16 Olympic medals. Budner will be remembered for her domineering 12 individual CAA championships that do not include another six conference relay titles while leading the Tigers to four straight league crowns

She's competeing in the NCAA's for the third time. Seeded #2 in two events too. Word is she might be in the running to make the Olympic team.

Towson's women's swim team is getting a girl from my high school from what I've read.
Since she burst onto the high school swimming scene as a freshman four years ago, senior Victoria Oslund has set numerous individual records, won three state gold medals (200 IM and 100 fly), won an Ironman crown and has been a major reason in the Tuscola varsity girls rise to the top echelon of 3-A swim teams in the state.
Because of her prowess in the pool and success in the classroom, Oslund will get to continue her swimming career on the collegiate level as she signed a national letter of intent Friday morning to attend NCAA Division I Towson University in Baltimore on a swimming scholarship.
