The team is ready and we have our first game in the league 8 ball tournament tomorrow at 10AM. The boys were over last night and we had a great practice. We were of course working on the fundamentals of the game, a habit we learned in college. Its a big tournament. 2 years ago we finished 2nd. Last year was a disappointment.
Its a funny deal, but competition 8 ball is a sport requiring the highest order of sportsmanship and skill. Its a lot different than 9 ball and we sure dont have a "Kid Delicious" on our team but we are competitive and we are ready to go. It should be a great time. We drew a first round bye and might draw my brothers team if we can get by Larry's Lushes in the morning. We represent the local VFW.
I did not play 8 ball for the BISON but the state tournament used to be held at the Memorial Union on the NDSU campus. A friend of mine, "Diamond Eddy" Hongess won it one year.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
Yes it does. It is a fast game and far less forgiving than 8 ball. You can watch some of the best players in the tri state area play the game at the Gastro Pup on 32nd ave in Fargo. I just picked up a nice Joss J21 there a couple weeks ago. Im using it more now than my Meucci Hall of fame

Well, we lost in the quarter finals. It was a clean match, no bad calls. The team we played in the last round is one of the best around. It was a great tournament. For myself I had a poor first round but got my game on track for the second and third rounds averaging an 8.5 out of a possible 10 over 10 games. If you include the first round my average over 15 games was a lot lower, closer to a 7. Fortunately it was a double elimination and we got to play some more. There were some good shooters there and a good time was had by all. I didnt sign up for the singles which started at 8 because I didnt want to shoot until midnight. Now i am regretting it. Good guys and gals in the league.
