BISON woment to NCAA Softball Tournament

The BISON Womens Softball team is headed to the NCAA tournament after taking the Summit League championship this weekend. Its the 2nd or 3rd time for them. Good team.
The Mens Track and Field Team took the Summit title over the weekend too!
Congratulations to both teams!!

This is the third year in a row for the BISON and they have the #1 team in the country to start things off for the second year in a row.
Playing the top-ranked team to open the tournament, however, does get old, in a way. For the second straight year, the Bison drew the nation’s No. 1 team, this time Arizona State. The Bison, 30-25, will play in the Tempe Regional against the Sun Devils, 50-6, on Friday. The winner gets either San Diego State or Long Beach State.
The Sun Devils will be the second top-ranked team the Bison will have faced this season. NDSU played UCLA twice in a February tournament in Los Angeles when the Bruins held the top spot. NDSU also played Georgia and Florida when both were ranked No. 2.
The average margin of defeat of those four games was 12.6-1.2. Georgia got the sixth seed in the tournament and is hosting a regional. UCLA slipped during the season and did not get a top 16 seed.

I saw NDSU play ASU two years ago in the NCAA's - fair number of Bison fans there. May have to check it out again - the softball stadium is 10 minutes from my house

I hope you do. It would be great to have a first hand report. Im still trying to figure out if its going to be on TV.

NDSU has a HUGE alumni base in Phoenix... so that's not surprising - helps with attendance for those first round games.

BISON put down the Aztecs 1-2-3 with SO in the top half of the first.

The BISON went down swinging in a good game against San Deigo State. Congratulations to the BISON on another successful season and a great run. The stands were packed with the NDSU faithful.
