Even I'm a UConn fan and now I've seen the light of just how bad this football conference is....I know, I know I'm surprised myself it has taken me this long to admit this.

by #2 LSU 47-21. I don't care how good LSU is this year, that's embarassing for the conference. Good for Pitt and Syracuse on getting out of the conference while they could. This just adds up to the number of embarassing losses this year for the Big Least.

Re: Big Least
Have you looked at the ACC? Not much better, and adding Pitt and Syracuse won't help. The Big East is 3-1 vs the ACC so far this year. Granted, it's a small sample of games and I think the ACC is the better of the two conferences but neither conference deserves a BCS autobid.ODUalum11 wrote:Even I'm a UConn fan and now I've seen the light of just how bad this football conference is....I know, I know I'm surprised myself it has taken me this long to admit this.

Re: Big Least
At least the ACC has Florida State, Clemson, and Virginia Tech...all teams who could end up having great years. I don't think the head to head comparison is fair. Cincy beat a terrible NC State team and what were the other two match-ups? If I had to bet....Florida State (ACC best team) would beat West Virginia (BE best team), Clemson (Possibly ACC second best team, or maybe ACC best team after yesterday) would beat USF (Possibly BE second best team), and Virginia Tech would probably beat anybody third or lower in the conference.BlueHen86 wrote:Have you looked at the ACC? Georgia Tech will win their division this year. I doubt they'll win less than 9 games this year for sureODUalum11 wrote:At least the ACC has Florida State, Clemson, and Virginia Tech...all teams who could end up having great years. Re: Big Least
I'd take USF over Clemson, they beat em last year and they're looking better this season. Until FSU can run the ball they won't be the ACC's top team or second team.ODUalum11 wrote:At least the ACC has Florida State, Clemson, and Virginia Tech...all teams who could end up having great years. Did you read my post? I said I thought the ACC was better, and I admitted the head to head sample set was small.ODUalum11 wrote:At least the ACC has Florida State, Clemson, and Virginia Tech...all teams who could end up having great years. The last few years the ACC has been almost as bad as the Big East, and I'm not sure this year will be different. Both the ACC and the Big East are basketball conferences. The ACC just got better at basketball, but adding Pitt and Syracuse won't make it better at football - might even make it worse.

Re: Big Least
Personally, I hate the argument that the ACC and Big East don't deserve BCS autobids. Tell me this, if they don't deserve then what other conference deserve an autobid? Realistically, you can't tell me the Mountain West is better from top to bottom than the ACC or Big East.BlueHen86 wrote:Did you read my post? I don't know if anyone really 'deserves' a bid to a game that doesn't mean jack shit, other than a huge payday for whatever network it's on. Fuck, I hate the BCS.ODUalum11 wrote:Personally, I hate the argument that the ACC and Big East don't deserve BCS autobids. Re: Big Least
As a fan of a team that once undeserving benefitted from the BCS and robbed by the old system, I don't really hate it. I wouldn't mind seeing a playoff though.ODUalum11 wrote:I think including you, everybody feels the same exact way in regards to the BCS. I give a bigGrizalltheway wrote:

Re: Big Least
Agreed. But remember why the BCS was started in the first place - so that the "haves" keep the "have nots" form getting too much of the money pie. The problem is that the ACC and Big East are made up of have nots.Grizalltheway wrote:I don't know if anyone really 'deserves' a bid to a game that doesn't mean jack shit, other than a huge payday for whatever network it's on. Re: Big Least
Nobody. But at least the SEC, Pac 10, Big 10 and Big XII champs have been deserving the last few years. Just because I want to take away autobids from the ACC and Big East doesn't mean that I want to give them to anyone else.ODUalum11 wrote:Personally, I hate the argument that the ACC and Big East don't deserve BCS autobids. The Big East is looking to expand:

Army and Navy would be good pick ups for football.

Re: Big Least
The Big East needs to add members and keep it's BCS bid. Army does not make the conference stronger. They may get an invite because there are no other choices, but they are not a good pick up for a BCS conference.Seahawks wrote:Army and Navy would be good pick ups for football.
