The Big 12 has voted to admit TCU to the conference. It will be finalized in the next couple days.

If the WAC and Big 12-3 didn't die, then the Big East won't die. They just might finally have to accept ECU though.

ECU&UCF
Christian Fouria was just on Scott Van Pelt and made a point that I didn't consider (which, given my background... I really should have) - The Big East won't lose their BCS AQ... the politicians will prevent it.
Why did Utah really get an invite in to the PAC 12? To shut up Orrin Hatch and get him off the BCS's back. (well, in part)
UConn, WVU and Rutgers are represented collectively by some decent political clout... they won't be left behind and out of the BCS loop - unless the BCS folks want Congress on their ass again.

Laugh all you want, but TCU to the Big Least made about as much sense as NDSU to the Big 10. In every sense of the word, TCU to the Big 12 is the RIGHT move. Good for TCU, they got what they really wanted anyways....now, they'd better hope the Big 12 doesn't implode.

I think it makes much more sense too... and indeed - I think TCU got what they always really wanted too.
Also: my sources inside the BISON football conglomerate tell me that there are ongoing negotiations that would bring NDSU in to the Big 12 where they rightly belong.
source: something I came up with while taking a shit.

Of the original members of the BE priot to it being a football conference, UConn was in the Yankee. Villanova too. Where was Syracuse? Were they an independant?

Yes.
They had an annual game with Penn St (also independent) that was (at the time) one of the biggest games of eastern football every year.

Syracuse had quite the schedule back in the day. Final year as an Indy: USC, Temple, Michigan State, Pitt, Vandy, Penn State, Rutgers, Army, BC, Tulane, WVU, Miami.

TCU will have to pay the Big East a $5 million exit fee, but it isn't bound to the Big Easts 27-month waiting period that Syracuse and Pittsburgh must honor.
TCU was set to officially join the Big East on July 1, 2012.
The Big 12 hopes Missouri will remain and be its 10th member moving forward, if not other options are on the table for a 10th member.

This is the right move for TCU and the Big 12. I hope Missouri stays, for their sake. They are a good program, but I just can't see them in the SEC. A worthy candidate for replacement would be BYU. Another team the I haven't seem mentioned, could be Boise St. I understand that they are a little a out of the Big 12 footprint and closer to Pac12 country. But the Big 12 needs to make a change. Acquiring TCU & Boise would create buz around the league and make the league more than just Texas vs. Oklahoma.

I don't think Boise ever has a chance at a Pac-22 invite. Word is their academics are sub par to Pac-22 standards and I doubt the Pac-22 Presidents would let something like that fly.
Glad to see TCU bail on the Big Least. That conference will be pretty desperate to stay afloat.

Big 12 were a bunch of retards for not offering TCU back when Nebraska & CU bolted...

Here's what's funny, given that NO conference seems to want Kansas State:
Big 12 StandingsTEAM CONF OVERALL
Kansas State 2-0 5-0
Oklahoma 2-0 5-0
Oklahoma State 2-0 5-0
Baylor 1-1 4-1
Texas 1-1 4-1
Texas Tech 1-1 4-1
Texas A&M 1-1 3-2
Iowa State 0-2 3-2
Kansas 0-2 2-3
Missouri 0-2 2-3
