Good for the NCAA - UConn deserves to pay the price for not paying attention to academics to the point that it got just laughable.

Their argument is bogus. If that were to hold true then why should half of Ohio State's FB team be penalized with no postseason this coming season becuase of the sins of Tressel & Pryor? Why was USC hit with a 2-year ban over Reggie Bush? UConn just needs to suck it up & hit the books. While they're at it their President should have already called Jim Calhoun into her office & asked him what the hell he's been doing...

I do NOT like UCONN, but I DEPLORE this bogus decision. The system is rigged so that sanctions take effect LATE. It's the rare (and STUPID program) that is still in the bad student boat when the sanctions hit. Most I'm sure are like UCONN in that they see players dragging down the program and DUMP them on the theory that a player who's not eligible can't contribute on the field/court. (Nobody in their right mind wants to risk forfeits after the fact for getting caught using an ineligible player.) UCONN's APR is dang near perfect right now, and THAT's what should be looked at. The players doing the job NOW should not be penalized for slackers who have been gone for some time now.

Stupid NCAA....
