Utah Valley, CSU Bakersfield expecting WAC invites
The Western Athletic Conference is expected to invite Utah Valley and California State University Bakersfield into its league non-football membership model, according to the Daily Herald in Provo, Utah.
The Daily Herald cited sources, adding that WAC interim commissioner Jeff Hurd was unavailable for comment. The report added that the WAC will formally announce UVU and CSU Bakersfield sometime next week, making the WAC a six-team conference in 2013.
In a conversation with the Sun-News last weekend, Hurd indicated the WAC was looking to make quick additions to its membership. When asked if schools such as Utah Valley and CSU Bakersfield - long speculated as possible league additions - could be added quickly, Hurd said he thought so.
I'll believe that when I see it. A glorified juco and a glorified D-II? I know they're desperate, but they're just digging their own grave a bit faster if they do THAT....

SH, you can't be that stupid, oh wait, you can. They are in, both were issued formal invites. Done son. Both schools are better at basketball than Sac St. and CSUB has a good baseball team.
Digging a grave faster? Lets see if they stayed at 4 Idaho would already be gone and they'd be dead now. They have 6, Idaho may still leave but they said they'll add UTPA and GCU along w/ Chicago St. if needed. More like it saved them from death.
SH is a Griz fan, not a Hornet fan. And do you think this pushes Idalol closer to the BSC? It sounds like they are having no luck putting together an Indy schedule (shocker) and the WAC board rumors are that Idaho is just sticking it out in the WAC for the money (exit fees due the conference via Fresno and Nevada). Any insight FSA?

Yeah, I hope so. Why stay in this new Great West when the Big Sky is much safer and gives you a home for fb if needed. The only thing keeping them in the WAC has to be that they hope the bball rpi rating will be higher w/ NMSU and Denver in it over the BSC schools. Still it's not like Idaho is going to the tourney. The other thing is their false hope that the WAC could land 6 FULL eastern members that want to move up to FBS like UNI, App St., Ga Southern, JMU, Liberty, Lamar

UNI ain't leaving the MVC all sports conference....the WAC can keep dreaming on that one.
There is some hope with MVC fans that the Valley might go after NMSU (who used to be a Valley team) and or Denver.

I am NOT a Griz fan, despite SD's protestations otherwise. I HAVE, however, been browbeaten by years of buttkickings at the hands of UM. Fortunately, that came to an end last year. It's time for Sac's OWN streak of wins over the Griz....

Yeah, you and the cats are both about to start one any year now.
What a traitor SH(it) is, how could he not put Pacific as his #1 team, after all he was 6TH STRING over there when they had football, they still have all their other sports. I mean I'm sure people that went to schools such as Marquette, Creighton etc.. still have them as their favorite school even though they don't offer football.
