Yeah he was a four yr gift for Liberty it will be awhile before you see a runner of his caliber unless you hit the recruiting trail in Kenya again?!?!?!SuperHornet wrote:Liberty was a power -- for a while. I'm not sure they've been able to replace all-world Sam Chelanga....

You think someone had a advantage???Who is your pick for team champs and any upsets possible???tribe_pride wrote:Interesting move to the Friday regionals and then Saturday (8 days later) Nationals. Used to have Nationals on Monday before TGiving.
I would think more folks in Lousiville would be in attendance on a Saturdaydal4018 wrote:You think someone had a advantage???Who is your pick for team champs and any upsets possible???tribe_pride wrote:Interesting move to the Friday regionals and then Saturday (8 days later) Nationals. Okay thanks see you Monday with final results.tribe_pride wrote:I like the Saturday Nationals better as you can get better attendance and people going to the meet. Never understood the Monday meet.
As for winners, I'd say Ok. State then Colorado (though wouldn't be surprised to see other way) with Wisconsin somewhere in the top 5. Individuals will have Lalang and then Sambu - both from Arizona although the rest of that team is not good enough to qualify as a team
For the women, tougher but I'll go with Florida State taking the win - no clue on individual
EP are you sure these schools made the regionals????EPJr wrote:you also need to followdal4018 wrote: I will be watching the south region and the teams Alabama St, Florida A&M, Hampton, Bethune Cookman.

Okay thought there was a Pre-requisite for advancing.tribe_pride wrote:There is no qualification for Regionals in XC
Nope Regionals is 1st level - Qualify for nationals by being on top 2 teams or top 2 individuals not on a team.dal4018 wrote:Okay thought there was a Pre-requisite for advancing.tribe_pride wrote:There is no qualification for Regionals in XC
Point taken but with this"lovely"weather we are currently dealing with their might not be a regionals much less a XC Championships!!!!tribe_pride wrote:Nope Regionals is 1st level - Qualify for nationals by being on top 2 teams or top 2 individuals not on a team.dal4018 wrote:Okay thought there was a Pre-requisite for advancing.
There are then something like 10-15 at large teams that get selected based on your place in the Region and how many teams who have qualified for Nationals that you have beaten. Actually somewhat complicated to explain but pretty straightforward and no guesswork once all Regions have run since it is all based on a formula and not individuals deciding who they think is better

You may be thinking of track which has qualifications for the 2 regions - Think you need to hit a set time in your event or win your conference championship to qualify for regions.
