I love to watch Saban meltdown. Now be prepared for him to use every media opportunity to state "a 1 loss SEC team who wins the SEC conference title game is more worthy of playing for the national title than an undefeated team from any other conference"

Long way to go, but if K State and Oregon run the table I think they will meet in the BCS championship game.

SEC champ will need one of those two to lose and for Notre Dame to lose.

Agreed yeah he'll use that as a likely excuse too bad Ohio St isn't ranked in BCS poll if they were Alabama would be ranked 5th overal therefore knocking them out of a shot for the national title.

Ducks move to #1 in the AP poll, should be #2 behind KSU in the BCS. :thumb:

Agree they should do just that.

Let me rephrase that: I think the Ducks are a better team, but the computers will probably put KSU ahead of them. Just my totally unbiased opinion. ;)

The computers will sway to the ducks by the end if the year based on SOS

Wouldn't be shocked if KSU gets edged out by Notre Dame. Can't see the TV execs too excited about the fact that K State might be in the BCS Championship game.

If all three win out, which is definitely plausible, I think ND will still be the odd man out. Who knows what would happen if NBC were airing the title game, though.

If everything stays as it, from what I've heard/read ND will be the odd man out in the computers.

Oregon is likely to jump KSU in the computers as they S.O.S. of Oregon is going to go up dramatically in the next 2/3 weeks (as future games don't count in the current SOS rankings apparently). Notre Dames SOS is going to fall, and KSU is about the same.

If all three win out the computers will go

1. Oregon
2. KSU
3. Notre Dame

With the possibility of one of the 1 loss SEC schools still jumping ND....the computers don't like ND this year apparently.

However, the human vote may be different - there will be a huge push to get ND in there and if all three win out ND may jump to #2 in the human polls....Not by enough to trump the computers, which make up the biggest % of the vote though.

Dumb comment. TV execs have no sway over the BCS when it comes to choosing teams. I've heard this way too many times already. The BCS is not like Caesar's Palace- they don't care about ratings (why else would they have let Boise or TCU in over the last few years?), just about getting #1 vs. #2. Notre Dame is not #1 or #2. It's that simple. NBC can gripe all they want, it doesn't matter. K-State is better and if they run the table will be in the national title.

I agree....BUT...don't be too sure they can't/won't find a way to indirectly influence the human polls...

Watch ESPN (sportscenter, radio shows, PTI, ATH, SportsNation, etc...) go on a major ND push here in the next 2 weeks and cut their coverage of KSU just enough to sway voters into thinking ND is better than it is

ND's offense is mediocre at best, and their D is overrated. An offense like Oregon's or KSU's would run roughshod over them.

Here's something weird: Don't know how the other power rating systems look but Notre Dame is #1 in Sagarin's ELO Chess rating system now. That's the one used by the BCS that doesn't take margin of victory into account.

Interesting too that his other systems...which he says are better than the ELO chess one because they do take margin of victory into account...still have Alabama rated #1 in spite of the loss. One can see Oregon's problem is that its schedule is rated 45th. I mean, Sagarin doesn't look at strength of schedule per se. But what it means is that the system has the teams Oregon played generally rated low.

Which has been addressed and will change. SOS doesn't take into account teams yet to be played...only teams played.

Oregon is going to see a BIG boost with Stanford and Orgeon State yet to go....

ND has Wake Forest and USC. Wake cancels USC out on the bad side

KSU has Baylor and Texas...their number won't move much either way.

The fact Oregon is still where they are in the computers with where the SOS is goes to show that they will jump KSU in the computers before it's all said and done
