I have a hard time believing they were even eligible for the playoffs. Weren't they I-AA just two years ago?

Correct. They were transitional members of the MEAC (jumped during the 2007-2008 season) and scheduled to begin full D-I competition last year, but reverted to D-II due to financial difficulties.

Make sure you have the cache before you jump. You just might be embarrassed and have to drop back down....

Mankato didn't make the playoffs last year. Minn-Duluth and St. Cloud represented the NSIC. Wayne State (Mich) beat them both in the playoffs.

My mistake they usually make it.Wayne St was the squad that denied Winston Salem a shot at playing in the title game.Too bad they didn't make it this yr would love for the Rams to see them in the finals and lay the smack down on them!!!!!

I like the FCS level, but some days I genuinely miss the old NCC and playing in the D-2 playoffs.
