Tulane/ECU to the Big East

As FSA said in another thread, Tulane is joining the Big East as a full member, and East Carolina will join as a football-only associate. This all supposedly goes down in 2014.

While I'm not exactly a fan of Scott Van Pelt, he does bring up a good point (see the video in the linked article). The Big East now seems to be the neo-C-USA. Essentially, the C-USA has shed the old label for the new en masse in a TV revenue money-grab. So the question is: How are they getting away with this?

Food for thought.

Will the television companies really pay the same amount to the "new Big East"?

The schools seem to think so. But that remains to be seen.

My best guess: NOT ON YOUR LIFE!

Why is this a separate thread?
