Retired Navy Chief Playing College Hoops

Chief Information Systems Technician (Surface Warfare/Air Warfare/Information Dominance Warfare) Brian Rice, USN (Ret.) is playing college basketball for NCAA D-III Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA, following his retirement from the Navy. The 43-year-old ordained minister is majoring in community ministry. He is playing a swing guard position, and has scored 17 points and pulled down 15 boards in 60 minutes of action over nine games. Even his teammates are calling him "Chief." ITC Rice plans to enroll in a master's degree program at Geneva after he graduates in 2014 so he can complete his athletic eligibility. WTG, Chief!

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
