Caltech - Losing streak capital of the NCAA

Post by bonarae »

But somewhat no longer. Baseball's 228-game streak (overall) ended today. But it's a non-conference game.

However, Caltech's baseball conference losing streak is at 463, last win was way back in 1988.
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.

Did anyone see the other athletic ineptitude the article mentioned?

Glad I never went there. Sheesh! One wonders what they'd look like if they had a football team....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

If you graduated there, you'd be making six figures.

Caltech's students may be even smarter than MIT's. :twocents: Nice to see them get off the schneid! :thumb:

Caltech is every bit the equal of MIT, and as Ivy mentioned maybe even harder. MIT has lots of students in ECON and Finance majors while Caltech is almost exclusively hard sciences like Physics & Chemistry along with Engineering. It is sort of a miracle that they can field teams at all.

I would think MIT's econ and finance grads make a killing, and probably more than the science and engineering grads (many of whom are foreigners). Becoming a hedge fund manager or investment banker is more lucrative more quickly and doesn't require as much effort as the STEM fields.

These are CalTech's starting pitchers. What do you expect?
