An unnamed WCC school is under NCAA sanctions because a golfer washed her car on campus, as tweeted by the U of Portland men's hoops coach. According to the NCAA, that's improper benefits for the water and the use of the hose. They want the athlete in question to pay the school $20. That seems rather exorbitant to me....
There was also another WCC sanction for a coach who texted a recruit "Who's this?"
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

The NCAA and its rules are like the Edsel outdated!!!!!
In general, I would agree with you. But THESE enforcements make no sense in ANY era, IMO....
