Watch the tape. As soon as he saw the play even feint going the other way he stood straight up and quit....especially as the game wore on when he should be dominating even more


He wasn't doubled from the start all that frequently...he took himself out of a ton of plays

He had his hands on his hips sucking for air like I do after I run a mil by the end of the first quarter.

Elite FB players aren't that out of shape like that that early in the game

It's a tape he won't be showing a ton of plays from. He completely quit the second half


Just like the Michigan game last year - 2 tackles.

probably the best comparison to make.

He is freakishly talented when he wants to be...but gets a ton of hype from ESPN for the couple plays a year he makes blowing them up like they are the greatest plays ever. He had 2 tackles in that Michigan game, but got the player of the game and months of coverage all because he laid the wood to a running back that is 5'8 and 100lb lighter than him.

He doesn't seem great against the run. Had a pretty good get off and first move, however, it looks me to that if that first move doesn't get it he lays way off the gas unless it's right at him.

That's why the Peppers comparison is a good one, Peppers is viewed by most fans and pundits to be a player that takes plays off. You're right, Clowney is freakishly talented, and could be phenomenal at the next level...but, he's got to be willing to give it a go 100% of the time.
