The girl reported it the day after. Tallahassee Police advised her that it would be bad for HER to press charges against a Seminole.

She moved away.

Someone found the story, and brought it to light recently.

Winston's DNA matches the DNA found on her clothes

This.

It also sounds like the family was waiting on DNA results but got a ton of excuses as to why they hadn't come back yet....while the entire time the TPD internally considered the case cold.

Something smells bad about this.

Agreed...

However, you can't disagree that based on what recently came to light that something is very strange about all of this.

There certainly seems to be, but similar situations recently have shown that there's not always fire where there's smoke.

Maybe no fun now, but may prevent a lot of nonsense in the future (e.g., Duke Lacrosse rape case). UPDATE: the Duke Lacrosse accuser is on trial for murder.

Like many of these cases... at least from what we know... it's going to come down to a simple he said - she said.

Yes, his DNA was found in her panties... but, he's just going to claim it was consensual. She is obviously going to claim it was not.

What's the truth? I do not fucking know. But, the burden of proof lies on the prosecution.

Agreed....

At the very least I bet we see a lawsuit brought against the DA/TPD for the shit they told her about pressing charges.

Is Florida State one of the institutions that have adopted the asinine "preponderance of evidence" standard for dealing with alleged sexual assaults?

Not sure what that means...but I did hear on the radio coming home this morning that if he is charged with felony sexual assault, or whatever it is called, per Florida law he will be suspended from the team until the issue is resolved.

Basically, the justice department is trying to bully universities into letting judiciary committees try sexual assault cases and expel accused students based on standards of proof that would never fly in the court of law.

In other news, Johnny Football isn't going to win the Heisman now.

TMZ set it up for him to win it and he can't close the deal.

What a choke artist. :ohno:

No real evidence of any kind of sex crime, charges not likely to be filed. Move along here, folks, nothing to see.

Glad to know you had half the story.

Thank god this is over

Based on the PC, this was all for Meggs and his last bit in the spotlight. Ridiculous
