...among service academies. And that's not just because they won the Commander-in-Chief's trophy with wins against Air Force and Army. The Middies are the ONLY service academy with a winning record, and the ONLY service academy going to the post-season (two are in D-III and could have gone to the playoffs had their records been up to snuff).
Navy: 8-4, Independent. Next up: Armed Forces Bowl vs. Middle Tennessee State (8-4, 6-2 C-USA).
Merchant Marine: 4-4, 1-4 Liberty League (D-III).
Army: 3-9, Independent.
Coast Guard: 3-7, 3-4 New England Football Conference Bogan Division (D-III).
Air Force: 2-10, 0-8 Mountain West.

That's because they'd beat you by 50 points.

No, I really don't. I was being sarcastic. My cousin attended West Point, I know all about the skirmishes between the service academies.

Am I the only person that didn't know the Merchant Marines had a football team.
Or for that matter, a school?

Delaware played them a couple times in the 70's when the Hens were D2.
Just went back to look at some old schedules and found an interesting one in 1974. Hens lost the D2 NC to Central Michigan and only lost to Temple in the regular season. The other wins were: Akron, El Cid, UNH, McNeese, UConn, Lehigh, Villanova, Maine, West Chester, Bucknell, Youngstown and UNLV. Quite a nice collection of teams back then.

Ellerson out at Army. I wonder if we (Georgia Southern) will be looking for a new head coach soon.
