Schwab seems like an inspiring coach. I don't care about wrestling at all and I'm tempted to go to a match.

I went get to one this year but they are intense.

West gym holds about 1800 and they squeeze about 2.5k in there.

Schwab is an amazingly intense coach on the mat but off he a true role model for the community

I never got into much, either, Fiver, until I got dragged to the DIII Nat'l Championships in Waterloo in the mid-90's by some friends at work. Lots of tension builds up in matches, especially when there are team championships on the line. Also, the occasional #8 ranked guy upsetting a #1.

I watch the DI NC's every year now. Nothing is better than a cocky fuckhead from the Hawkeyes on a 34-match win streak getting outsmarted and taken down by a smaller guy from Lock Haven in a semi or championship match!

The d3 championships are in Cedar Rapids this year...I plan on going since its only 20 minutes from my new place.

Cap and hi5, you should head down. The d3 guys are very good...should be a real strong Warburg showing as well

I just wish Iowa would stop ducking UNI at this point. It was a meet that happened every year when UNI was down but now that UNI is back in the top 10 to 15 they won't wrestle anymore

Nice.

Travelled to Virginia last month to watch my son's team wrestle against VMI. The VMI thunderdome is a great venue for wrestling. It doesn't hold that many people, but the matches are well attended and the cadets make a lot of noise.

Clenz, you're probably too young but did your Wartburg time overlap with Aaron Wernimont? He's a local kid that won 2 national championships at Wartburg.

Uni is currently 9-0 in duals...taking on instate, abd 17th rated, Iowa State tonight...

UNI is up 18-4 after 5 of 10 matches.

Only win for ISU so far was expected ad their 197 guy is ranked #2 in the nation...

UNI moves to 10-0 in duals this year....
