Another KBS expansion?

Didn't know if I should put this in the FCS forum and endure the wrath of everyone but ∞∞∞ and Flaggy so I'll put it here. We're in the mighty mighty Sunbelt now

(cue dback to blast away on that

) but it looks like we may have some good news regarding track removal and additional permanent seating.
Future projects include an estimated $15.6 million expansion to Kidd Brewer Stadium, including north end zone and east side seating additions; $2.2 million for a field hockey facility; $1 million indoor tennis facility; $4.3 million for basketball and volleyball facility improvements, including a new practice facility; $5 million to relocate the track; $1 million to replace the stadium turf; $750,000 for baseball field additions; and $500,000 for a golf driving range and practice area.

Believe it or not, it's actually worse. Can't use your feet (even accidentally), can't use the back of the stick, can't swing the stick above your waist...

Girls ice hockey will be the final nail in the field hockey coffin.

Very similar, only on the ground. My two oldest are giving it a shot this fall over soccer. I'll tell you how it goes.
I went to several FH games in college, but I guess I was too hammered to remember what goes on.
The chicks are hot in their short skirts, which could be a future issue to over come.

Did you transpose the last two words in that sentence?

Expanding KBS at the same time that attendance is about to plummet? Not to smart...

But if you're right, then we can run at 60% of capacity like the rest of the SB.

IIRC we would have either led or been top 2-3 in the SB with a 4-8 season last year.
Edit: yep, 26,358 for App last year.

The crowds will flock to Georgia State now that it is a "Sun Belt" game.
And Troy, and Arky State, and IdaZ'salmamater

Sure, 26,358 for a year that "appears" to be an abberation. But when it's NOT, look out. Like rats off a sinkin' ship, they be.

We'll be having an ACC team in KBS before long.
Appalachian State athletic director Charlie Cobb said that Mountaineers fans could be seeing some bigger programs visit Kidd Brewer Stadium in the future. Southern Mississippi, who visits Kidd Brewer in 2015, will be the first nonconference FBS program to play in Boone.
Cobb said talks are already underway to get an ACC team to visit Boone.
And, Arkansas State and Troy are far more intriguing than 95% of teams we've hosted recently, imo.

When he says ACC team, he has you think UNC, NC State, FSU, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Miami, VT, Louisville, Clemson or even Duke.
But he really means Syracuse, Wake, or Virginia

I would certainly take Syracuse, Wake, or Virginia. I don't see anything wrong with hosting any of them.
