Up 3-0 on Texas after 3 innings. Hope the Cats keep it up, this is the first game in the new stadium and the first time Texas has ever played in San Marcos.

We played great and they got some really horrible calls (noncalls?) from the umps go their way.

You guys can call me biased but go check the Bobcat Board, I wasn't the only one on the stands that got livid with the officiating in this game. They GAVE that game to UT.

The "San Marcos Daily Record" noted the bad umpiring
The "Austin American-Statesman"called it a sloppy game UT pulled out and gave TxSt no credit. (what a surprise, eh? :o )

My only consolation is that UT lost to 2-7 Stanford and we swept Purdue this weekend

9 - 2
17 - 4
14 - 10

TxSt Baseball a/o 3/8 ... 9 - 3

Softball 15 - 9

BTW - I took some pics the day of the UT game. A few shots at the West Side of Bobcat Stadium under construction. 2 at spring practice (didn't have the memory card in and internal memory crapped out)

With memory card in I took some at the new ball complex.

Well, I really wanted to keep up with this but as I stated in another thread, things got out of hand. I did attend alot of games this year considering I had only ever attended 2 in all the previous 5 seasons together. I made the time and I got the days off I needed to go to at least 1 a week and sometimes 2.

The team this year was the bomb
Alot of individual and team records were set including:
HR - Goldschmidt - 18
Games won - 41
Caught stealing
- Theriot 78%
- Kopycinski 53%
4 pickoffs
Stolen Bases - Dennis 15
Team BA .337
SLC record runs scored - Sibley 77

All American Honors

Kane Holbrooks
RHP 10 - 1 3.34era
ranked in the top 10 in pitching for DI all year.
NCBWA, ABCA All South Central Team, All SLC, Louisville Slugger All American

Paul Goldschmidt
Jr 1st base .357 BA 57 Ex Base Hits 18 hr
COSIDA All Academic Team, SLC Student Athlete, ABCA All South Central, NCBWA, SLC Player of the year, SLC hitter of the year, Lousiville Slugger All American

Tyler Sibley
FR CF/2B
.367BA, 77 RS, 10HR, 13 Doubles, 38RBI, 14 SB
Louisville Slugger Freshman All American, Baseball America Freshman All American

Two players that garnered both Football and Baseball Conference Championship rings and we had 5 players drafted by MLB

Theriot (Jr.)- Kansas City (catcher)
Holbrooks - Minnesota (RHP)
Brundridge - Seattle (RHP)
Goldschmidt (Jr.) - Arizona (1B)
Loftin - Toronto (RHP/3B)

All in all an excellent year for TXST Baseball and things only look better for next year.

Our DH(Keith Prestridge), who would have been a Senior in 2010, has left the team and trying his luck in the free-agent market. There goes more power from the line-up. :( I wish him luck.

We lost some good players, to graduation and the bigs. Lost our star 1ber but we still have a solid team and actually only 7 are gone from last season. The transfers, returners and incoming have us already looking at another SLC title and return to the NCAA's. 20 kids that are now HS juniors & seniors visited in the spring and 19 have the desire to attend TXST.

Bits and pieces of our OOC schedule are being let out by player's dads over at BCF. We have a tourney in CA that includes San Diego, San Diego State, Fresno State and San Francisco. We have Penn State (at home) for a weekend. Open with Houston - 3 away, A&M and Rice will visit San Marvelous. We will again take on TCU and UT (although UT will not come to us this year, they only did last year as a 'favor' to open our new bb complex.Otherwise they never come the whole 30 miles to play in SM)

Looking good if we can hang with the Big 12 and CUSA like we did this year.

Really wish Montana had a University baseball team (not the club team).

I'd like that. We could come up there in March and freeze our asses off again :thumb:
Hell, I bet we could feeze in April

On another note: I gleaned some of our schedule, from teams that have already posted their 2010's, and made a temp/partial schedule on my alt. site
