I-A Playoffs

Do you think they got it right?
BTW, I had to laugh at all the idiots this week who said "this is great, all these meaningful games"... these were the same jackasses that claimed a playoff would make the regular season meaningless. Of course, all us I-AA fans knew they were wrong, now everyone does. Only problem, nobody will be willing to admit they were in that camp.

Pretty surprised my Buckeyes made it in. But that's what the Big Not 12 gets for not having a title game and scheduling FCS teams. But I will add that Bama did too and no one said a damn thing about it.
Oregon is going to ass pound Florida State. I think Ohio State will keep it close though. I picked them to beat Wisconsin by a field goal and they won by 59 so we'll see.
But yes, I think they got the four teams correct. Only thing different I'd have:
1. Oregon
2. Alabama
3. Florida State
4. Ohio State
But honestly, I'd rather play Bama than Oregon right now.

I think the toughest matchup for Alabama, including consideration of Oregon BTW, would have been Baylor. That might be the most unstoppable offense I've ever seen. I don't think ANY defense in the country could stop that offense so anybody that played them including Alabama just better resign itself to, at best, getting into a game where there are going to be a a lot of points and you have to score enough to have more than them in the end. And that means you'd better start off assuming you are going to need at least 40 points to win and probably more.
Oregon, as good as their offense is, isn't as good as Baylor on that side of the ball. At least I don't think so.
Another thing about Oregon is that I've been kind of burned by thinking they'd do well on offense against SEC teams in the past. And they didn't. I'm talking about the BCS championship game against Auburn and the season opener classic thing against LSU. In both cases their offense just didn't seem to work all that well. Their offensive line got handled in both cases and it affected them.

There are NO playoffs in I-A, and this sham of a "tournament" is absolute proof. Baylor should be up in there....

I have always been a proponent for an 8 team playoff and this season was an excellent example why. IMO, there are 6 teams who could win it all, but we'll never know now with Baylor and TCU.
As for the playoff, I would have kept TCU as the 4th team since they had the best loss out of the three (OSU, Baylor).

I might give Ohio State the benefit of the doubt if they looked good in the last 3 or 4 games, but sorry, one game at the end of the year doesn't move the needle for me.
The best teams Ohio State beat are
1: Michigan State (lost by 9 to Oregon and it really wasn't that close)
2: Wisconsin (lost to LSU, Northwestern)
3: Minnesota (lost 30-7 to TCU)
I don't buy for a second that the Big 12 was left out because of no championship game. If Oklahoma and Texas were in the position TCU and Baylor were in they would be in the playoff, period. The bit about the championship game just sounds nicer than "we don't want those BIg 12 private schools in the playoff because Ohio State being in will be more lucrative".
It's too bad, because after this UAB situation I'm starting to not like Alabama, and I just don't see Ohio State keeping the game close.

And Bama gets what's almost a home game in New Orleans. Would've been nice to see Bama have to travel to a game this year. I think their longest road trip was to Little Rock, AK. Granted, going all the way to Texas for the final will be a trial as that will be the longest trip then. Must be nice to play no OOC teams away and never have to leave the region.

Why even comment then?

A member of a Power FIVE conference gets left out of a FOUR team playoff and it's a news story?
And I thought these were institutions of higher learning.

I chuckled at that as well. Imagine the heart failure if TWO SEC teams were named and no Big 10 rep?
Ohio State is a sham. Baylor OR TCU would absolutely ROLL those pieces of shit. Big 10 is a joke of a conference.

8 is the number. This guarantees the inclusion of a deserving national champion if someone makes a 3 game run.
They will get there eventually.
