Michigan Reports Violations

ANN ARBOR (AP) - The Michigan football program reported four secondary violations to the NCAA this year, including two recruiting violations, that occurred during Harbaugh’s first four months on the job. MLive.com originally reported the violations, obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request.
Michigan self-reported an instance when a recruit sat with members of the football coaching staff at a hockey game in premium seating, and a violation of electronic correspondence and recruiting materials.
Michigan also self-reported its coaching and support staff making public comments regarding a recruit or a potential transfer, which is prohibited until said recruit or potential transfer has signed with the program; and a donation that Harbaugh made to a Toledo auction that went towards a high school scholarship fundraiser that also raised awareness for suicide prevention, but the donation was not reviewed by UM's compliance office. NCAA rules prohibit coaches from donating items to high school scholarship funds.
A Michigan athletic department spokesman acknowledged the secondary violations, but declined to comment further.
Michigan was not penalized for the secondary violations, which the NCAA considers to be Level III violations. The NCAA defines Level III violations as "violations that are isolated or limited in nature; provide no more than a minimal recruiting, competitive or other advantage; and do not include more than a minimal impermissible benefit."
In May of 2010, Michigan put itself on two years of probation for four major violations related to practice and training rules under Rich Rodriguez, who coached at UM for three seasons, from 2008-10. The NCAA added a third year of probation.

Looks like the Wolverines' reputation is damaged further, with the levels down to the point of no return...
That's why I do not have a favorite FBS team anymore.

I expected this from Hoke, but not Harbaugh. Guess he figured he was too far behind.

Penn State is still worse, but the Wolverines reporting recruiting violations when they hadn't committed any before RichRod... about the same level.

Just got word that Michigan's leading kick returner has been kicked off the team. No word as to why. Sucks that he's a senior, though. Could it be related to this?

They're secondary violations. Meh.
I don't think anyone cast cast stones over secondary violations.

What does that article, which is dealing with instances from 2 years ago, have to do with Michigan?
