The Bears started the regular season 9-6. They now sit at 41-10 and are staring down a bid to not only host a regional in the NCAA tournament but they are on the cusp of earning one of the top 8 seeds.

I just looked at the roster and see only 5 players from the St. Louis area. That figures since youth baseball is so screwed up there.

Good Luck.

Why would SW MO State recruit heavily from an area three and a half hours away? They'd be better off recruiting locally and in FL/CA/TX....

MO State now owns the nation's longest active winning streak at 14 games. Looking for 15 against hated rivals Wichita State in the MVC tourney. A Bears win sends them to the championship against Bradley tomorrow night

Well, by golly they did it! I didn't think it would actually happen but the Selection Committee rewarded a great season. MO State being the only FCS team to receive a National Seed, or even a #1 seed.

Being that FCS doesn't matter in baseball,I'm guessing you forgot to scroll through and see Leigh on the list.

Is Stony Brook still FCS?

Seeds aside, other schools with FCS ties, Like Coastal Carolina, are in. Big congrats to you guys.

I don't expect people to actually read. That would be asking too much.

I read it on my phone so the formatting might've been screwy.

And a huge congrats to the Bears - being seeded #8 in the nation, and guaranteed home field all the way to Omaha if you win is huge.

Congrats to all the teams that have made it. Coastal Carolina has been in for the last few years but they never make it very far. Here's hoping they (or College of Charleston) can go the distance.

Not quite for the Bears. This will be the only round we host. The Springfield Cardinals are in town the weekend of the Super Regionals and therefore MO State cannot use Hammons Field to host as the NCAA does not allow shared stadiums during the Regional/Super Regional time frames.

Damn - that sucks - can anything be done? That is the whole point of being a national seed - the right to host the Super

Yep. Sucks big time. Fans have thrown out the idea of taking over Busch Stadium as the Stl. Cardinals are out of town that weekend Image

But, Joplin also has a 4200 seat stadium that could be used.

More than likely, if we win the regional, we're looking at heading to Stillwater or Fayetteville.

:ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

In-state recruiting is important to all public schools. In-state scholarships cost less.

Tx Southern will face off vs Coastal Carolina.

I can't believe Missouri State doesn't have its own baseball stadium. It's been a good baseball program for years. I mean c'mon.

Too good of a deal to pass up playing at Hammons. $200k rent and we get full access to amenities that college baseball teams outside of the top Power 5 schools could only dream of.

We'd be looking at $10 million minimum to build on campus and then we have to take care of it, lose the indoor practice facility, and decrease capacity to who knows what.
