This is why I love Harbaugh

Up 31-0...forced a stop on 3rd and 13 in the third

Refs missed a hold call and he was still fighting for the call

Amazing. I thought it took 5 years and 3 prongs to bring a program back to prominence. Harbaugh must be a genius.

Of course, Brady Hoke did okay his first year at UM...

Would love to see Baylor versus Michigan. Baylor's offense is silly good this year.

Brady Hoke stepped into an offense that was top 10 in the nation, and unlike anything the B10 had ever seen in conference, that scored 35 points per game....and that includes scoring just 30 total points in their 2 losses and 23 in the Sugar Bowl win.

Had Rich Rod had any kind of defense (his defenses ranked between 107-119 every year at Michigan) he would still be the head coach and Michigan would be averaging close to 45 ppg and 9 to 11 wins per year.

What Hoke did, that first year, was allow Denard to do what Denard did. He focused entirely on the defense. Took them from 107th to 6th (giving up just 16 points per game that year and he always had a top 10-15 defense while at Michigan).

The issue is he didn't/doesn't understand offense. The offense fell from top 6 to 100+ under Hoke. Over 50% of run plays were negative yardage. Over 40% of total plays were negative yardage. They simply couldn't score...or even move the ball really.

Harbaugh took that defense to another level this year, and has brought a true identity to the Michigan offense. It looks like a true old school offense, but some of the wrinkles that are being run out of it are pretty crazy. He's doing that with a 5th year grad transfer QB that was run out of Iowa City and didn't get to campus until August.

Hoke consistently had top 10-15 rated recruiting classes as well. He just couldn't get the offense moving.

In comes Harbaugh with a new attitude, new message, new focus, and a roster with pretty good talent on it...and...well... :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

In one year, with no prongs, and with a transfer QB to boot! Geez, wonder if UD will change their uniform style now so that we don't have even a shadow of an affiliation with a school that, while playing "winning" football, is clearly doing things the wrong way.

Could say the same about Gus Malzahn.

Inherited a 3-9 Auburn team and took them immediately to an SEC championship and National Championship game.

... now he's sputtering.

You don't tell second and third string guys to not try when they are out there. Coaches should coach just as hard at that point

And the media jinxed Florida and Michigan talking about what a big surprise they both were...

All he had to do was not drop the snap...that's all he had to do.

Oh well.

Time to finish 9-2

And failing that, all he had to do was drop ON the snap....
