Great reporting. G.A. Magnus, the QB coach, is one of the names being floated as the interim HC.

SO LONG, HBC.

Fans have been calling for the HBC to step down since last season.

Now we'll only have to listen to Dabo interviewed every night on local news. :ohno:

Spurrier is an ass, but he's made it entertaining at times with the SC/Clemson banter with Swinney.

South Carolina offensive line coach and co-offensive coordinator Shawn Elliott will be named interim head coach of the Gamecocks on Tuesday.

It will be his first time as head coach after 19 years as an assistant.

Elliott, who is from Camden, is in his sixth season with USC. He joined Steve Spurrier’s staff on Jan. 3, 2010 and was given the co-offensive coordinator title in 2012 after serving as the running game coordinator for the previous two seasons.

Prior to his arrival in Columbia, Elliott had coached his entire career at Appalachian State, where he helped the Mountaineers to three-straight national championships (2005-07).

:thumb: I'm looking forward to Elliott having a larger role. He did well since he came on board in 2010.

I suspect that the AD had a hand in this. As long as Spurrier has been around, he's earned the dignity of "retiring" vice getting publically canned.
