ESPN Bases Loaded (Goal Line / Buzzer Beater) is a great way to watch the Regionals. They do a decent job of bouncing around to the action.

College baseball is somewhere between rugby and crew in my must watch list!
Do they still use aluminum bats?
All credibility is shot when I channel surf to college baseball and hear PING!!! So ghey.

They're dumbed down aluminum or composite bats now called BBCOR.
Coastal is facing a tough task headed for Baton Rouge.

Indeed. Should be a good experience though win or lose. I guess it's possible there's some argument but I think many would say LSU's place is the best atmosphere in college baseball.

Nope. Mississippi State.

No doubt, while Miss State looks cool, LSU runs away with the #1 attendance year after year. Plus they tailgate quite well there too.

BBCOR sucks.
The bats are now essentially wood bats that make a "ping" sound when hit.

Yeah but they tailgate DURING the game at Miss St.

Both Mississippi State and LSU stadiums make this NCAA list of 5 "must visit" college baseball stadiums:

Either way, going to LSU is going to be quite an experience for Coastal Carolina and its fans; especially if they can win. It's going to be packed and it's going to be loud.

I'll say this though:
I'm watching Arizona at Mississippi State on ESPN2 right now and compared to watching a LSU game the atmosphere is dead. If you see this in time...it's in the 6th inning right now...tune in and watch for a while.
Then tomorrow night tune in to ESPNU and watch Coastal Carolina at LSU. I predict you're going to see a lot more of an atmosphere. It's going to be a lot louder and livelier crowd wise. That is unless Coastal Carolina blows LSU out and silences the crowd.
But this is a 1-0 game (Arizona just finally scored). If you've got a tight game like that at LSU it's going to be loud and intense.

I saw some of the Rice/LSU game the other day at a time when Rice was winning 2-0. Didn't see much "atmosphere" then.

No! That was last week. Florida State already won that regional and is facing Florida in the Super Regional.

Well I didn't see that Rice game but I'm watching CCU at LSU right now and there's a lot more "juice" in the atmosphere at LSU tonight than there was at Mississippi State last night or is at Mississippi State tonight.
Having said that I'm also flipping back and forth between the games at LSU and at Mississippi State and that's a really interesting game in the 10th inning right now at Mississippi State.

Coastal Carolina stole all that juice. Win one of the next two and off to Omaha they go.

Well, my take is that both fanbases are lively when their team performs well. When it doesn't go their way, the crowds are silent. Maybe that's baseball. But I don't see a difference between the two atmospheres, other than the odd tailgate type scene in the Miss St. outfield (which looks pretty cool).

Coastal wins! They traveled to Baton Rouge, played #8 LSU and beat 11-8 and then 4-3 last night. Last nights game was great. Coastal led the entire game (in front of a sold out stadium). Next stop...OMAHA!
