I watched more of the App State game than I did of the Carolina game. App looked good against Tennessee. Was that a targeting call I missed? I stepped away and something happened. I didn't care to look into it any further.

Yep, blatant targeting by UT. Poor clock management late and a freshman kicker kept us from putting them away. I'm not sure if this result means we're a top 25 team or that Tennessee isn't.

I chalk it up to 1st game jitters and mistakes. Like Carolina last night. Their starting QB seemed scared in the 1st half. Orth did a decent job. The line was making stupid mistakes. Orth, IMO, won the battle to be starting QB but that game was close. Luckily, a 55 yd FG clinched the win.

Tennessee didn't know what hit them and was clearly out played. Granted, UT didn't play very well, but App is legit. Take away the kicking woes and you win.

Yup. Just like CSU last week, the bad kicking cost them the game. But they were legit for the entire game.

Very impressive performance. Was rooting for App all the way. Nothing to hang the head about.

I think the UT coach feels the same way, he made sure he cam and talked tot heir team after the game, was pretty cool.

Sun Belt came within a whisker of going 2-0 against the SEC opening weekend. Bad week for the SEC Superiority Complex overall. But that's a topic for another thread I guess.
Won't matter anyway. SEC fans have short memories when game outcomes don't support the conference being as superior as they think it is.

SEC critics like to latch on to every loss of all of the lesser teams, but right now there's not an FBS conference that can really say they're better.
Every Power 5 league took a loss to a non-P5 team this week. Obviously Tennessee is not quite as good as advertised, but UGA and Texas A&M look like they could pick up the slack.

UGA will disappoint their fans like they do every year. Then it will turn to basketball season where disappointment is even more expected. UGA has an underachieving program.

Tennessee will be fine.
Will still win the East and finish top 10, imo.
Not Georgia.

Conference USA. You remember. That's the conference that has gone 10-1 against the Sun Belt in head-to-head games since the beginning of the 2014 season.
