So they offer the living expense money and then cut sports? Makes perfect sense...

Before these pictures, these ladies were on a factory boat in the Bering Sea, sorting pollack, and sending the worm infested, creepy crawly ones to McDonalds for the 2 for $5 Fish Sammie special.

And you know you'd still hit 'em all!

I prefer the Florida White Grouper or Northern Lake Walleye.
McDonalds Fish is to hard to eat while driving.

I don't eat McD's fish sammiches, but why can't you eat them while driving? It's not like it is tall, has special sauce, AND has chopped lettuce that is hard to manage with one hand like the Big Mac.

Try adding it under the bun of your bigger big Mac and you'll see.

As much as I dislike UND as a fan, this has got to be one of the worst things they could have done. Women's hockey went from 35 to 34 teams, and it's a hockey school cutting hockey. Black-eye for the Fighting Hawks.

So Gil, you think they should keep spending $2M per year with no return to suck resources from everywhere else? One of the worst things a school could do, huh? Heaven forbid that someone has the balls to do what's right to rightsize the athletic department and commit to improving other sports to make them more competitive with the impending conference moves.
I feel bad for the student athletes affected by this, but it should have been done a couple years ago, and it was definitely the right move. Where was all of this "support" for the women's hockey team during the year? They averaged around 800 fans per year, many of which were non-paying. What do you think they should have done? And note, to stay competitive with area schools, which is one of the goals, they need to offer FCOA, so don't use that as what they should have done.
Now if you complain about how it was handled, you may have a point.

Upon further review, it doesn't look like the Fighting Hawks fit into the Women's Hockey profile. B1G or other major conference member in other sports or DII in other sports. What's the difference between Maine and UND as a women's' school?

Believe it or not, that was one of their most successful sports.
