I would've gone pro and been the next Federer if not for that lifetime doping ban.Ibanez wrote:Probably. Those tennis junkies should be tested.

May need to go watch. I have to pick up 89Jr tomorrow anyway.WWII wrote:No. 1 Albany vs. #2 Maryland at noon Saturday. On the Big 10 network. Massey has Maryland 58% favorite.
Too bad. Fastest sport on two feet, as they say. I saw Salisbury edge Washington College 7-6 in OT on Saturday, in a D-III rivalry game. Good defense and goalie play on both sides. One of my grad classmates is an assistant coach.GannonFan wrote:I watched a lot of that Albany/Maryland game a few weeks ago and I have to say it - I generally don't enjoy watching lacrosse. And heck, I used to have season tickets to the Philadelphia Wings (Gait brothers, Tommy Marachek, Dallas Eliuk, etc). There's very little strategy to field lacrosse. Just tons of one on one attacks. As a spectating sport goes, it just doesn't do it for me.
When they're moving, sure, but a lot of the time is just passing it around and looking for an advantage. The goalie is huge since almost all the action is a one-on-one rush and getting a shot on the keeper. I'm not sure why the coaches have whiteboards to write plays on - every possession looks like a hockey 5-4 power play.Ivytalk wrote:Too bad. Fastest sport on two feet, as they say. That's a good analogy. My BIL has been watching lax non stop on TV lately. I told him I did not like the out of bounds rule on shots. The offense is almost always going to keep the ball because they form that perimeter around the D. Seems like there should be a better way to encourage the O to move around more.GannonFan wrote:When they're moving, sure, but a lot of the time is just passing it around and looking for an advantage. Less white players in the NBA compared to lax, that's for sure.Ivytalk wrote:Meh. Beats the NBA.GannonFan wrote:
