Just checked numbers of players on NFL rosters to see if LSU still looks like the most under achieving college football program ever.

Yep. I didn't check all teams but I noted that right now LSU has 51 players on NFL rosters, Alabama has 48, and Ohio State has 40. Miami has 42. Florida State has 37. USC has 40. I'm guessing that, as usual, LSU has the most players on NFL rosters.

There is no excuse for them not having won more games along with some more national championships.

LSU hasn't been bad, though. They've been mediocre the last few years... but, not bad. They haven't had a losing season in 20 years.

Florida has 47 NFL players and they've had 2 losing seasons in the last 5.

Even Harvard has six current NFL players, topped by Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is starting his 14th season as a journeyman NFL QB. Nice gig if you can get it.

LSU needs to get away from the pro-style garbage.

There's more to winning titles than getting players on NFL rosters. There's also that little bit of a requirement known as "chemistry...."

I’m not sure you can make the assumption that LSU should have more NCs just because they have a lot of alumni in the NFL. We know success (or lack of) in one level doesn’t equate to success in another.

51 players and not one of them a Quarterback. THAT is the problem.

I don't know if this is still the case, but the MEAC and SWAC used to put more players in the NFL than any other I-AA conference, but they were horrible come playoff time (SWAC 0-17 all-time, and MEAC hasn't won a playoff game since 1999). Go figure.

Alabama has ZERO QB's starting in the NFL. Only 1 current NFL QB from Alabama - and he is behind a guy from FRESNO in the depth chart.
