Pretty cool that Sun Belt fans don't start these threads. We know you still love us. :thumb:

The Sun Belt. You can't stop us, you can only hope to contain us. ;)

Looks like Joe Moglia is stepping down at Coastal and Jamey Chadwell will take the reigns.

What's your opinion of Jamey Chadwell? Some Coastal fans seems to think he's toxic and the players don't like him.

I lived in Charleston when he was at Charleston Southern and I think he did a helluva job following Mills. He really took that team from a joke to a contender is short order. If CSU actually cared about their football program, he could've done more but they were screwed financially by a employee and his ponzi scheme so any money spent anywhere was made sure to go towards priorities.

Chadwell is smart, young and understands the game. I'm not sure what other fans and players think. I guess I should go to the coastal boards and see what the rub is.

Edit - Went to the boards. Fans aren't happy. The term "caustic" is used often.

One key to his success was he had no bar when it came to recruiting

He proved you can win football games if you can recruit kids who cannot exist anywhere outside of places like Phoenix University or Bob Jones

ESPN loves them some Georgia Southern versus App State. Never puts it in ESPN2 for some reason, but it's the only Sun Belt game that's been televised every season since 2014.

Could be an FBS upset for CCU in those first two games. I know KU has been a recent FCS victim. But they always suck, so there’s that.

 I wouldn't put any money on CCU in either of those games.

Georgia Southern's starting QB gets arrested on cocaine charges in some pretty odd circumstances

https://www.foxnews.com/sports/georgia- ... -bird-poop
Police Report

A few things here:

1. The testing solution the cops have notoriously bad specificity (meaning you get false positives) so if there's something in the sample that's mimicking cocaine you're going to get a negative test no matter how many times you test it.

2. Whatever was on the hood and windshield was obviously caked on and not removable just using wipers, meaning it had to be something that contained moisture that had time to dry out. I don't know how you get a fluffy powder on the hood of the car and have it stuck on the hood so that the cops had to scrape it off (apparently without proper equipment BTW that could be contaminated).

3. The Savannah Morning News reporter that saw the camera footage of the stop said the white stuff was covering about three fourths of the hood. That's a hell of a lot of cocaine to have and if it covered most of the length and width of the hood how the hell did it get "thrown on" as the report suggests?

SLED's crime lab apparently didn't find traces of any controlled substances on mass spec.

Also, Wapo picked up the story.

Why would they test a white substance on the hood of a car in the first place? Particularly since he had been pulled for driving 80mph.
